- A holding tank is used in regions where an issue with environmental concerns do not allow for the on-site disposal of effulent and require the effulent or sewage to be removed by tanker.
In these circumstance a holding tank conveniently located near the roadway is situated and designed to hold approximately one weeks storage of domestic effulent waste prior to collection.
Typically these tanks are around the 5000 litre up to 10,000 litre capacity, sealled and filled from either a collection well, a septic or an AWTS.
OneWaternaturally holding tanks can be above or below ground but their size and content is preferably located in-ground in a well ventilated area.
