pre . filter

Some operators consider a pre-filter is useful in maximising the treatment of degraded water prior to industrial use.

Pre-filters are commonly of two types:

      • a pressurised sand filter
      • a pressurised media filter.
The usefullness is for other to determine in a biological treatment sense but the need for a fine filter process to remove large particles of suspended matter is advantageous and potentially saves the necessity to clear the biological media in the tower filters when clogged.

Any disturbance to the bacteria and removal of the media from the filtration environment is potentially reducing the quantum of bacteria and subsequently a temporal loss of efficiency in removing undesirable substances from the degraded waters.
